Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

1. Preparation and Submission of Manuscripts
Authors are required to read and follow all instructions provided by the Jurnal Rekam Medis dan Manajemen Informasi Kesehatan (JURMIK) through the Open Journal System (OJS) before submitting a manuscript. Manuscripts submitted to JURMIK must present research findings that are relevant to the journal's focus and scope. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript complies with the journal's author guidelines, manuscript template, ethical requirements, and publication standards. Manuscripts may be written in English or Indonesian. All initial submissions must follow the official JURMIK manuscript template. Manuscripts that do not comply with the required format may be returned to the authors for correction or may be rejected during the initial editorial screening. Authors are encouraged to carefully check the manuscript, including the title, author information, abstract, main text, tables, figures, citations, and references, before completing the submission process.
2. Manuscript Structure
Manuscripts submitted to JURMIK should contain the following sections:
1. Title
2. Author Names and Affiliations
3. Abstract
4. Keywords
5. Abstrak
6. Kata Kunci
7. Introduction
8. Methods
9. Results
10. Discussion
11. Conclusion
12. References
The manuscript should be prepared using the official JURMIK template to ensure consistency in structure and formatting.
3. Title
The manuscript must include the title in Indonesian and English.
a. Indonesian Title: Written in Times New Roman, 12 pt, bold; Use capitalization at the beginning of each major word; The title should contain a maximum of 15 words; Latin names should follow standard scientific writing conventions.
b. English Title: Written in Times New Roman, 12 pt, bold; Should correspond to the Indonesian title; Latin names should follow standard scientific writing conventions; The title should clearly reflect the main topic or research conducted.
4. Author Information
The manuscript should include:
- Full name of each author.
- Author sequence according to their contribution.
- Institutional affiliation of each author.
- Complete institutional address.
- Email address of each author.
- Identification of the corresponding author.
The corresponding author should be clearly indicated with an asterisk (*).
5. Abstract and Keywords
Abstract
The manuscript must contain an English abstract consisting of 200–300 words.
The abstract should include: Research problem; Research objective; Research methods; and Main research results. The abstract should: Be written in one paragraph; Use Times New Roman, 10 pt; Use single spacing; Not contain citations; Not contain tables or figures; and Represent the content of the research as a whole.
Keywords
Provide relevant keywords below the abstract.
Keywords should be presented in the following format:
Keywords: first keyword; second keyword; third keyword
Abstrak
An Indonesian-language abstract must also be provided and should consist of 200–300 words.
The Indonesian abstract should contain the research problem, objective, methods, and results in one paragraph. It should use Times New Roman, 10 pt, single spacing, and should not contain citations, tables, or figures.
Kata Kunci
Provide relevant Indonesian keywords below the abstract.
Kata kunci: kata kunci pertama; kata kunci kedua; kata kunci ketiga
6. Introduction
The Introduction should provide a clear and concise explanation of: The background of the research problem; Relevant issues related to the research; A brief and relevant literature review; and The research objective, stated at the end of the Introduction.
The Introduction should be written using: Times New Roman, 11 pt, Single spacing.
Citation Style
Citations must follow the Vancouver citation style using superscript numbers. Authors should ensure that every citation appearing in the manuscript corresponds to an entry in the reference list.
7. Methods
The Methods section should describe the research procedures sufficiently and clearly. At minimum, it should include:
a. Research design;
b. Population;
c. Sample;
d. Data collection techniques; and
e. Data analysis.
The Methods section should use: Times New Roman, 11 pt, Single spacing.
Ethical Clearance
Research involving: Human subjects; Experimental animals; or Biological data or materials that may pose physical, psychological, social, or legal risks to research subjects must obtain Ethical Clearance (EC). Authors should ensure that the ethical requirements applicable to their research have been fulfilled before submitting the manuscript.

8. Results
The Results section should present the findings of the research objectively without interpretation or personal opinion.
The main text should use: Times New Roman, 11 pt; Single spacing
Tables and Figures
Tables and figures may be included when necessary to support the presentation of research findings.
For tables and figures: Text should use Times New Roman, 10 pt;
Single spacing should be used; Figures should be positioned in the center; and Large figures may extend across both columns when necessary. 
Figures should be numbered consecutively and provided with an appropriate title or caption.
Example: Figure 1. Name of the Graph
Tables should also be numbered consecutively and provided with a clear and informative title.
Example: Table 1. Characteristics of Hypertension Respondents
9. Discussion
The Discussion should provide a clear, accurate, and argumentative interpretation of the research findings. The discussion should relate the research findings to relevant theories and Previous research findings.
The Discussion should not merely repeat the Results section but should explain the meaning and implications of the findings in relation to relevant scientific evidence. The Discussion should use: Times New Roman, 11 pt; Single spacing.
10. Conclusion
The Conclusion should directly answer the research problem and research objective. The conclusion must remain within the scope of the research findings and should not exceed the capacity of the findings. The Conclusion should: Be written in paragraph form;
Not be presented as bullet points; Use Times New Roman, 11 pt; and Use single spacing.
11. References
All sources cited in the manuscript must be included in the References section, and all references listed must be cited in the manuscript.
The following requirements apply:
- References should primarily consist of sources published within the last 10 years.
- Each manuscript should contain a minimum of 20 references.
At least 80% of the references should come from national or international journals.
- References must follow the Vancouver Superscript style.
- Authors are required to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, or equivalent software to minimize citation and reference formatting errors. 
Authors should carefully check the accuracy and consistency of all bibliographic information before submission.
12. Manuscript Template
Authors are required to use the official JURMIK Article Template when preparing their manuscripts. The template provides the required structure and formatting for: Title and author information;
Abstract and keywords; Main manuscript sections; Tables and figures; Citations; and References. Authors are encouraged to prepare their manuscript directly within the official template to ensure compliance with JURMIK's formatting requirements.
13. Initial Editorial Screening
All submitted manuscripts will undergo an initial check by the editorial team. The initial screening may include verification of: Manuscript completeness; Compliance with the JURMIK template; Author information; Ethical requirements; Citation and reference formatting; Overall manuscript structure; and Suitability with the journal's focus and scope. Manuscripts that do not comply with the required guidelines may be returned to the authors for correction or may be rejected during the editorial screening process.
14. Author Responsibility
Authors are responsible for ensuring that the submitted manuscript: Is prepared according to the JURMIK Author Guidelines; Uses the official JURMIK template; Contains accurate author and institutional information; Provides appropriate ethical clearance when required; Uses accurate and relevant references; Follows the required citation style; and has been carefully checked before submission. Submission of a manuscript to JURMIK indicates that the authors have reviewed and agreed to comply with the journal's applicable author guidelines and publication procedures.
