Plagiarism Policy

Jurnal Rekam Medis dan Manajemen Informasi Kesehatan (JURMIK) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring the originality of every manuscript submitted for publication. All manuscripts must represent the authors' original work and must be free from plagiarism, duplicate publication, and other forms of academic misconduct.
Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their manuscripts before submission. Authors are strongly encouraged to conduct a similarity check using appropriate plagiarism detection software and to revise any sections that show inappropriate similarity with previously published sources. All information, ideas, statements, or findings derived from other sources must be properly acknowledged and cited in accordance with the journal's citation guidelines.
Similarity Screening
The JURMIK Editorial Board conducts a similarity screening of submitted manuscripts using Turnitin to identify potential textual similarities with previously published or available sources.

The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%.

A manuscript with a similarity index above 20% may be returned to the author for revision and clarification before proceeding to the next stage of the editorial process. The editorial team will assess the similarity report by considering the context and sources of the identified similarities. Similarity resulting from references, standard terminology, commonly used phrases, or other legitimate academic expressions may be considered differently from substantive similarities that indicate potential plagiarism.

Authors should note that a similarity index of 20% or below does not automatically indicate the absence of plagiarism. The similarity percentage is only one component of the editorial assessment. The originality, proper attribution of sources, and academic integrity of the manuscript remain the responsibility of the authors.

Manuscripts found to contain substantial plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct may be rejected by the editorial board in accordance with JURMIK's publication ethics and applicable academic integrity standards.
